Legal compliance for First Aid training is governed by law and an institution giving training must be in possession of a certificate from Department Of Labour.
Regulation 7 of the General Health and Safety Regulations, 2004; enforced by the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 (Act No.85 of 1993) states the minimum contents of a first aid kit required at a shop, office or factory.
First aid training of staff members is a legal requirement.
The Safety at Sports and Recreational Events Bill, 2005 sets minimum safety standards, including first aid personnel, to be met at recreational and sports events.
